BREAKING NEWS: "Good Things Come To Those Who Wait..."
Such were the sentiments expressed by SWV's LeLee, during the premiere of their sophomore album "New Beginning" nine years ago. And perhaps that statement best sums up the feelings of millions worldwide--fans who have been yearning for new material from Sisters With Voices ever since the trio parted ways at the turn of the century. Well, disheartened fans need not fret anymore. The wait is finally over!

As most of you all know; my doctors had intentions to induce my labor Monday morning April 4th at 7:30 AM. My baby decided that he didn't want to put his mom through anymore stress and came on his own. At 1:30 Am Monday morning I went into labor. It was the most excruciating pain I had ever endured but well worth it. Eleven and a half hours of serious pain!
April 4th at 12:47 PM weighing in at 7 lbs 15 1/2 oz and 19 1/2 inches long; Eriq Michael George was born. I stayed to true to my original plans to have my baby without epidural. I did use a half a dose of Stadol. That is a drug used to calm pregnant mothers down but not ease the pain. It only lasted less than a half of an hour though. Before I knew it I was pushing and a short while later a beautiful blue little boy with big brown eyes was screaming on my chest. It was the sweetest sound I had ever heard.
We are now home recovering nicely. Big brother Jaire is ecstatic and daddy is very proud. We have been calling him E-mo because he looks like a little eskimo baby to us right now.
To everyone that has sent flowers and gifts; we appreciate you so much. We love everything!
We hope to speak with everyone soon,
-Taj & Eddie"

For a month or so there has been talk of CoKo being signed to or being pursued by Star Trak Entertainment, a label owned by The Neptunes. This information has not yet been confirmed, but that doesn't mean that you all shouldn't know about it. There was a rumor floating around about SWV being signed, but I highly doubt that (I'll let you all know why when the time is right). But for now, chew on that... join us in the forum and let us know what you think.

SWV to perform on Tom Joyner Cruise? (Unconfirmed)
01.25.05
The Tom Joyner organization has an event called The Fantastic Voyage 2005 that has listed SWV to be among other celebrity artists. I believe that they are supposed to be performing on the cruise. Although SWV has been listed as performers, all of the members are not aware of this event. As of now, this information has not been confirmed 100%, aside from the website: Fantastic Voyage 2005 Artists List. Please go to the forum for more information.

Check out our beautiful Lelee's new joint, "Baby, Baby". To my knowledge this is her first or second reggae joint that has been released on the internet... Hope you like it.
According to a article by Jawn Murray (of the Jawn's Juice column), the SWV Reunion has been scrapped. CoKo pretty much confirmed this news because she informed me of the article. In addition to the SWV information, Jawn also had some interesting news in regards to Ms. Voice herself. Here is a snippet from the article...
"Plans for an SWV reunion have been scrapped. No word on why the girls — Coko, Lelee and Taj — have nixed the comeback effort. In the meantime, sources say that Coko is in the studio working with producers Kay-Gee, of Naughty By Nature fame, and her husband's producing duo, The Clemons Brothers (Tyrese, Mary J. Blige). There’s also buzz that Coko could be involved with a rumored female L.S.G. (Levert, Sweat, Gill)-type effort."
Lelee is currently working on her debut reggae album! That's right, a reggae album. Lelee recently drafted Michael "Jahmikes" Coburn to produce her first reggae album. Jahmikes is an incredible reggae producer who has worked with such talents as Luciano, Sean Paul, Sizzla, Elephant Man, Wayne Wonder, Dennis Brown, Johnny Osbourne, John Holt, Kymani Marley, Toots, Greggory Isaacs, Lady Saw and now... Lelee of the sensational R & B group (SWV-Sisters With Voices).
Here is another gorgeous pic of Taj with her new husband Eddie. Taj & Eddie pics will be showcased here in the news section... the photo gallery is strictly for SWV and its members.
"I smell a lawsuit on the horizon and LL Cool J’s new single “Amazing” may be the cause of it. The song, which features newcomer Kandice Love, was produced by The Neptunes and is featured on LL’s latest album “Ten.” The tune was originally penned for SWV lead singer Coko’s sophomore album that was shelved when RCA closed its Black music division. Unfortunately, though Kandice Love is credited with singing the hook on the song, The Neptunes left some of Coko’s vocals on the song and the singer is not happy about it. Towards the end of the song, right around the three-minute mark, the first word and most of the bar are apparently Coko’s vocals -- not Kandice‘s. “People started calling me asking if I had heard the song. When I heard [the song] I was shocked. My people are looking into the matter,” offered Coko. I’ll keep you posted as details become available."

Tamara "Taj" Johnson is now engaged to football player Eddie George. Eddie George plays for the NFL team, the Tennesse Titans. Recently, he took the time to graduate from Ohio State University in 2001. The initial confirmation came to me from CoKo. I was hearing/reading a lot of rumors and speculations, but I decided to wait until CoKo got at me. The two plan on being being married in the summer of 2004. These are very happy times for SWV. Their personal lives are growing as beautifully as they are. First CoKo's marriage and the new baby, and then Taj with her engagement. Now all we have to do is see what's up with the baby of the group, Lelee. We miss her very much too. I'll see what I can get out of Mrs. Voice. In the meantime, check out this pic I found on Eddie George's website.
SWV: Platinum & Gold Collection Out June 17th, 2003
05.28.03
As always, RCA/BMG is releasing another SWV album with no promo nor hype. Please don't take this info the wrong way. This is not in any way SWV's doing. In fact, according to one of its members, they knew nothing about this. This album is basically The Greatest Hits (Part 3). The album is being released under the BMG Heritage Label (I have never heard of it before today). This compilation showcases the usual SWV material, however, I think the label realized how much the fans love Surprise Me & Mystery (thanks to SWV Online) because those 2 songs will be featured on the album as well. Along with those unreleased tracks comes another track that the majority of us SWV fans have yet to hear, and that is the full length version of an interlude from New Beginning titled, "Where Is The Love". I believe that this will be the reason most of us goes out to by this greatest hits album (this will be the 3rd time for most of us). Many of us may just get it to support but whatever the case, according to SWV, I don't believe SWV will receive any profit from this album's sales. But just because its SWV I will buy it!
The Tracklisting is as follows: 01. Weak
02. You're The One
03. Can We
04. Right Here (Human Nature remix)
05. You're Always On My Mind
06. Anything
07. I'm So Into You
08. It's All About U
09. Someone
Previously Unreleased Tracks 10. Where Is The Love
11. Surprise Me
12. Mystery

This news comes rather late, but I am sure everyone would still love to know. CoKo recently had her baby boy and named him Jalen Michael Clemons. CoKo and her hubby are happy and are said to be doing very well. If I am not mistaken, the baby was born in late February. I will get the info together soon, but right now that info is on my computer back home.
Also, if you want to check out CoKo's hubby's skills on the drums, check out Ushers Live DVD. That's all for now, more to come!
CoKoLeleeTaj.com has transformed itself into the ultimate SWV fan experience! The site's new name is SWV Online. I've spent a lot of long days and nights trying to figure out a smart, clean and edgy layout for the site, and I finally got it. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do. Now that SWV is back together this site is going to be the place to be!
Although we have not heard much from our 2 mystery ladies (Taj & Lelee), I stumbled across these pictures on a very nice SWV Yahoo! Group. Check out the beautiful pics of Taj on the Photos page!
In the January 2003 issue of Sister 2 Sister magazine, Taj gave Jamie a brief summary of what the girls of SWV are up to. One of the things that Taj mentioned was how SWV as a whole is much more involved with their current project than any of their previous albums (except It's About Time). She stated that they have grown and know alot more about the music industry. Taj said that she wanted to be more involved with SWV's marketing. (I guess going to college really paid off for Taj). Anyway, go pick up up that S2S magazine. Kelly Rolland of Destiny's Child is on the cover.
It was reported that on the the closing night for the hit David E. Talbert and Babyface stage play "Love Makes Things Happen" was a sad one. The musical, which has toured since January, starred Kevon Edmonds of After 7, Dawn Robinson of En Vogue/Lucy Pearl, Coko of SWV, and comedian Joe Torry. It sold out all of its seven shows at the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC. All of the cast members were in tears as Talbert introduced them for their final bow in the production. I went to a private dinner with the cast on opening night in DC at the mid-town watering hole Smith & Wollensky's. At the late-night supper, Talbert told the cast how much he admired them. "This has been the best cast ever," said David. "I am really going to miss being on the road with you guys!" The playwright - whose other productions include "His Women, His Wife" which starred Malik Yoba and Stephanie Mills and "Fabric of a Man" which starred Shemar Moore and Cheryl "Pepsi" Riley - also assured, "In my next play, Coko will have more songs to sing!" As Talbert made his rounds during dinner, I begged him to bring back gospel songbird Lecresia Campbell, who appeared in both Talbert's "His Women, His Wife" and "Mr. Right Now," for whatever his next play might be.
It was reported on July 16th, 2002 that Gospel music maintained its presence on last week's Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Chart. Destiny Child's Michelle Williams was ranked #21 with her debut "Heart To Yours." Kirk Franklin's "The Rebirth..." album stands at #45, Yolanda Adams holds down #49, and Brent Jones & T.P. Mobb (whose album features Coko of SWV) are planted at #55. Rounding out the gospel artists on the chart are Vanessa Williams (Richard Smallwood & Vision fame) at #59, Marvin Sapp at #81, and Donnie McClurkin at #97. Franklin, Williams and Adams hold the respective top spots on the Billboard Gospel Chart, with impressive debuts by Dorinda Clark-Cole at #5 and Kieth "Wonderboy" Johnson at #13.
It was also reported by a fellow SWV/CoKo fan that the song "Midnight", which is the song from Brent Jones' album, has been getting heavy rotation in California during Gospel hour and in the "midnight" hours! "Hold it down CoKo!"
The following article is from a well respected journalist out of Washington DC. Please remember that we have not talked with CoKo yet, but if this is true... you heard here first!
Reunited…And It Feels So Good: Guess who's back together? Ugh huh, it's SWV. You heard it here first that Coko (born Cheryl Gamble), Taj (born Tamara Johnson), and Lelee (born Leanne Lyons) have reunited and will begin recording a brand new album this summer. I spoke to two of the Sisters With Voices recently about the group reassembling.
"I'm very excited and nervous at the same time," said Lelee about the reunion. Coko chimed in, "I'm looking forward to recording again with Lelee and Taj. I definitely think our fans will appreciate what we're bringing."
SWV tore through the '90s as the chart-topping New Jill Swing trio and scored big with hits like "I'm So Into You," "Weak," "Right Here," and "Downtown." One of the group's biggest hits, "Anything," was featured on the "Above The Rim" soundtrack. In the summer of 1995, the trio lent vocal harmonies to the Blackstreet hit, "Tonight's the Night." SWV also recorded the intimate slow jam "All Night Long" for the groundbreaking "Waiting To Exhale" soundtrack.
In total, SWV recorded three albums: 1994's "It's About Time," 1996's "New Beginning," and 1997's "Release Some Tension," and after their breakup, a "Greatest Hits" album was released in 1999.
After nearly a four-year hiatus from recording together, do the girls still think there is a demand for groups like SWV? "I think there's a demand for groups period," explained Lelee. "As far as girl groups, I think Destiny's Child held it down for a long time. It's funny because [when they started] we were like big sisters to them. To see them blossom like that, I think about us a lot. If we had the right direction and guidance, we could've been just as big," she concluded.
It has been no secret that a major fallout between the girls caused the group to disband, so what makes this time around any different for the group? "We are adults now," emphasized Lelee, who believes immaturity and external negative influences helped cause the group to breakup initially. "We've put the past behind us and we're ready to work towards the future," said Coko. "[We have] unity now," added Lelee.
The future for the group now includes working on a new album. "We start recording in July when Coko finishes her play," informed Lelee. The ladies are mum about a record deal for now and would only say that, "we're entertaining multiple offers at this point."
Since SWV parted ways in 1997, each of them has been quite busy with their individual endeavors. Lelee moved to Atlanta and her company, Margy Inc., partnered with a friend's wedding planning business to book talent for weddings and receptions. She also took time to get her G.E.D. "I'm really proud of that," exclaimed Lelee. "The average person would look at that as something very small, but it was a challenge for me because I wouldn't get off of my butt and do it. It's my biggest accomplishment in life!"
Taj moved to Los Angeles and started going to college. Though both Coko and Lelee know that Taj is graduating this month, neither can remember the name of her school or what she's studying. "Honey, that's the one thing I don't know," laughed Lelee. "All I know is that it is in L.A." Ditto for Coko who said, "I forgot!"
Coko (who cut her long trademark fingernails more than six years ago) sang on Will Smith's multi-award-winning smash hit single "Men In Black," the title-song from the blockbuster movie's soundtrack, as well as recorded duets with Jon B. for the "Hav Plenty" soundtrack, with Johnny Gill for the "Booty Call" soundtrack, and with LSG on their self-titled album. She then released her debut solo album "Hot Coko" in 1998, with the standout single "Sunshine." This year, Coko began touring with the Babyface and the David E. Talbert stage play "Love Makes Things Happen," which also stars Kevon Edmonds of After 7, comedian Joe Torry, and Dawn Robinson of En Vogue. She is also featured on the new gospel album by Brent Jones & T.P. Mobb on a track called "Midnight," and on Bishop Eric McDaniel's "We Are Healed" album on the cut "Some How, Some Way."
SWV is not certain when fans can expect their new material, but for now, they just want people to know they're back in stride again. "I'm sure we'll get the support that we'll need," said Lelee about when the new music is finished. Keep your eyes and ears open for the return of SWV.
